I like the looks of it and look forward with what it does with sound.

Is the removeable back cover there to make it easier to replace the battery?, If so that would lengthen the life span of this product, and can high capacity batteries be fitted?
I think this movement started from DX320 Max Ti, and yes, it is to make battery replacement easier.

Cost: In Australia I heard 1,200 to 1,500 AUD.

Maybe the amplifier connection port is under the battery :) Rejection of the line of variable amplifiers seems illogical
Seems to be the question and I suspect it will happen. I liked that you could swap as well but what if they just nailed the one that's there. I'm personally not into flavors when one just sounds right though I guess that can be relative.

Looking at the photos doesn't look like you can remove and swap out the Amps
The photos actually tell me that it's a possibility. If you look at both outputs, they have the same diameter cutout where previously the case cutout more closely fit the actual diameter of the jack. Might be that way to accommodate any future option with 2 large diameter case cutouts and the brass rings replaceable or part of the board. Boards could still be replaceable with jack options but the plug in format would likely need to change.
