Good to see these bugs being fixed, but that is a heck of a lot of "bad" bugs for V2.7 software. Poor developers? Poor design? No QA? Rushed to market? Must have been bug ridden with previous versions. No wonder so many people were complaining about the software in reviews on the net.

My experience with poor quality software such as this is that there might be some fundamental design flaw with spaghetti code. You fix one bug and create two. Hopefully this isn't the case, and the code has been refactored sufficiently well. This player is at the top of my list, so I hope this to be true.

The DX200 can play ISO files? That's good. I have about 100 ISO files and I'd rather not convert them all to .dff if I can avoid it.

Many of the bugs often didn't show up but we decided to list everything including a couple that did come up more often. Often companies when doing FW updates often do not list everything and sometimes they have no change log at all. We have a good software team and they work hard. We continue to advance the firmware for the DX200 all so all those who use the DX200 can enjoy the music all the more.

Mango Player plays SACD ISO, even DST-encoded, but gapless playback does not work with them, at least last time I've tried it.

HibyMusic and UAPP play SACD ISO much better.

I’ll have to give HiByMusic a try. I really enjoy the sound of my iPhone + Mojo but it’s a bit impractical for the gym hence my interest in the DX200. I think the sound signature of this player will suit my Vegas well from what I’ve read.

Well, I should have said that, mentioning Hiby and UAPP, I mean my firmware mod, with which they both play hi-res and SACD natively on DX200. With stock firmware, they both are limited to 16/44.1kHz downsampling. I have no experience of pairing DX200 with any external USB DAC.

No a 3rd party app can play SACD ISO natively on DX200 with stock firmware.

Updated to the latest FW 2.7.188. No issues that I notice and the sound is very open and dynamic.

Further listening, very layered, transparent and more 3D than the prior FW. Good stuff. Using the AMP4 right now and it does excellent with the Utopia. I would not call this a warm FW but more like what I have heard on a number of live venues.

Is this the newest firmware ? Or was this the one released couple weeks ago right after the Beta

This is a different FW. It was released as a regular FW vs a beta so it would be the latest.

Paul, must be really difficult to get rid off annoying sounds when the player switches from FLAC to DSD and visa versa. Lurker00 managed to accomplish that in his USB Audio app, perhaps contact him and ask what he did.

Isn’t the sound coming from the electrical components ? Aka hardware ?

Me too with just AMP1 module. Difficult to describe but feel better. lol
