Responses in this thread will obviously be biased. Since I own both I can say DX200 > R6 for both audio and GUI performance. Note that I use Lurker0 firmware on the DX200. R6 needs some work in firmware to make it a solid DAP.

AMP1 does come stock with DX200 and it's fine in it's own right. However, I prefer AMP8 as it provides more punch than my previous fave AMP3. Don't have AMP4/4S but I know those are highly regarded as well.

Deciding between getting a used DX200 and the Hiby R6. Planning to get the 64Audio N8.

The DX200 originally comes with Amp 1? How much of an upgrade should I expect I get from Amps 2 and 3 with my IEMs and the N8?

And is the Amp 4, 4s or 8 the ones to be going after? They seem to be the most sought after on the market.

How would the power of this compare with the R6 for driving full size headphones?

My apologies, I am not up to speed on the DX200 and the variety of Amps available.

Thanks.

DX200 is definitely a DAP you want to drive your 64Audio if you have the right amp!

I have never tried R6 but my friend who have both says definitely go with DX200 for sound quality.

Regarding R6 vs DX200, we need to take into account that DX200 is also quite a bit more expensive :)

It isn't exactly a fair comparison to say, I also think that DX200 is better than R6 sound wise, but it is to be expected given that you are paying a bit more for DX200.

To be fair, even at the more comparable DX150 vs Hiby R6 I would still take the iBasso.

Ibasso gotta start making Dx300 with dual akm4497EQ and exotic components such as F Resistors, film capacitors, electrolytic capacitors, an NVME, an analog volume attenuators, and charge $2800 for it. To compete against DMP-Z1 LOL!

Darn not for 2800 sorry to much. They should definetly go for higher grade components. And make sure it sounds like a desktop dac amp.
AND DONT FORGET SPOTIFY AND TIDAL PLS.
:)

Spotify is great to.
By the way I did a more profounded tests and bluetooth dac amp streaming from phone to dx200 sounds exactly same as from coax output. That is insane tooo.

Exactly, in this hobby you are absolute in just a few years
, just like many things tech.

I try to upgrade to the newer stuff yearly so I can resell my used stuff and add more $ to buy the new, I feel the loss of cash less this way and I get to enjoy the new things
