I was looking for a justification that could convince my wife.

And here it is. I'll buy it and keep it close to my heart when I reveal the purchase.

If a bullet is shot by her at my heart, I'll be saved by ibasso titanium.

If she goes for my head, I'll die with it close to my heart :)

Well I received my Amp8 three days ago and it took me that long to get it out of the box that had industrial strength yellow tape, reinforced with kevlar, welded closed with titanium alloy and then tied with rope made of the mane of a unicorn.

Sounds great!

LOL hysterical!

You can wait till tomorrow LOL

PS - @icefalkon some kid wants impressions of amp7 when you have a chance :D

LOL I saw!

are there some Amp 7 impressions around please..

Hi there Roger. I have been burning in the AMP7 continuously all week and using it only briefly after work. What I am hearing though is very nice. The soundstage is very open and bass is getting better every day! I'll have a more in-depth review in a few weeks after I put it through the wringer.

You can’t have both! You can not have great performances and great battery life ! Lol! You can not have a Prius mileage’s with Ferrari performances

Truth. As a general rule of thumb there's three desirable aspects of a DAP:

1. Inexpensive
2. Great audio performance
3. Great battery life

Pick two.

I would pick INEXPENSIVE and GREAT AUDIO PERFORMANCE and would not care about great battery life.

Same. Just like how DX90 was hahahah. I had like 3 extra batteries to swap anytime I want. Such fun!

This line is very old. Often attributed to construction... cheap-fast-good.jpg cheap-fast-good-graphjam.png

Well @Whitigir ...you've now made me need a darn 400GB microSD card!

Pink Floyd's iconic Dark Side of the Moon sounds effing UNREAL in DSD512 on AMP7. HOLY COW!

Now I have to plug in AMP8 tomorrow to see how amazing it sounds on that. Seriously, this is amazing. It's taken a fantastic .flac album and elevated it to the stratosphere.

Damn you Whiti....lol.

So what's the right 400/500GB one to get?

Where did you get the spared batteries? Any links would be appreciated? Thanks.

That was for dx90 lol. Dx90 battery was removable like a Samsung phone.

I don’t think dx200 is designed to have hot-swapping for its battery sadly.

Yep. Still have the spare batteries and chargers. And still use the DX90. What a great DAP.

My .02 cents on the Amp 8. Jumping from Amp 3 to 8, have a good 100 hours on the amp, been running it night and day. Listening a good five or six hours per day as I have that luxury at my job.
Earphones that I have detected noticeable positive difference from Amp 3:
Noble Audio Katana, Noble Audio K10u, Campfire Audio Andromeda, Campfire Audio Polaris, IBasso IT04.
Campfire Audio Polaris, for one, is like a different earphone, just jumps up a notch or two in overall resolution.
Great job IBasso!

Amp 8 is that special sauce that perks up all those earphones that we all spent too much money on.

Amp 8, Special Sauce for your ears.
