Ok, if you think the AMP8 is good when you get it or with some burn in wait until 150 hours. The timbre and more layering is amazing to me. I thought it was already there and the sound excellent but it gets better. Listening to banjo tonight and the sound is so right and the singer is like 3D that it makes me wonder, what will it be at 2 or 3 hundred hours.

I didn't get any period of distortion so I think it was burning in at that time. I would wager it is one of the caps forming that does this.

what's the least amount of hours you AMP8 user have gotten so far if no one knows what the most it can last then?

I am considering your term "boomier" as a negative? Because as far as bass is concerned I find AMP8 hits with more impact than AMP3.

No... not in a bad way at all. The bass sounds better to my ears then it did with AMP4s. Boomier was the wrong word. The base is more impactful than any of the other amps.

Anyone suddenly having battery issues? These past 2 days I've had the following happen:
  • AMP2 installed and battery at 90% or higher. Turn off DX200. Sit for an hour or more
  • Switch to AMP8 and power on DX200.
  • DX200 doesn't power on...
  • Plug in charger and see the battery is suddenly drained...
  • Wait a few minutes and turn on DX200. See the battery at < 5%...
I just sent this device in for battery issues just a few months ago... except now my warranty is expired. I'm on the latest firmware. I'll try a factory reset later...

The only issues I observe with Amp8 is that it greatly varied upon load and play format. I use my HD800S playing DSD512 and without charging it....low...and behold....it lasted almost 3 hours.

The Amp8 certainly uses more battery reserves on my unit, vs all my other amp add ins (1,3,5,4s). Even when idle, I am seeing some battery drain. I have not experienced an inability to power on, like you are describing, though. Another member a few pages back, also mentioned increased battery usage.

It wouldn't be an issue, if the device has fast charging (which it does NOT of course).

I haven't done a full charge to empty test, just yet.

It is not fast charging, but playing DSD512 with Amp8 and Hd800S, I can plug in and keep playing overnight. It still gonna drain eventually and shutoff, but that takes about 30 hours or so as it does 2 times already, because I am burning it in.

If DX200 Titan has quick charge! That would be awesome, and I can not wait for the titanium
