Take this with a grain of salt. I am using the amp4 right now with my Vegas. I have not burned the amp in, I have only about 1 hour on it. I think I like the sound better than my amp3 with over 200 hours on it. It seems like a veil has been lifted. The sound is not harsh to me in any way either. The soundstage seems deeper to me, could be because sounds are clearer too. The sound just clicks with my earphones or is just what I like I guess. Really looking forward to burning this amp in. I love it so far. I do like the amp3 as well. Great sound. From the top to the bottom it sounds great. Will keep you all informed if my opinion stays the same.

How do the andromeda sound with amp3? I am going to use shure se846 and love the bass on those...I hope i can get the warm and lush sound out of it
I have the 846 and a recent pair of Vegas. I didn't think I'd be able to beat the bass on the 846, but the Vegas do. "Warm and lush" is definitely an attribute I'd give to these headphones as well.

That’s really good to know actually I think vega is the best possible upgrade after se846 and that’s what i will be getting next as well. There are many other IEMs both more expensive and cheaper than the Vegas but i think it will be the best sounding iem to my taste and a worthy 846 upgrade.

Told my wife after she gave me that “another headphone/ earphone look !!!” That 846 was the pinnacle of 2014 technology and vega might just be what we can do in 2017 at its best

I'm using 2.7.180 for a couple of days now and it works great. I'm connecting my DX200 to 13" MacBook 2015 through: Mac USB-C port -> USB-A hub -> DX200 USB-C and it works both as card reader (in Android mode) and as USB-DAC.
Nice work, iBasso!

Yes, you cannot go wrong with the Vegas, especially to those who loves warm and lush sound.

Anyway, I am looking forward to the release of AMP5 to see what it could offer to me (I am an avid SE believer). It’s just recently that i purchased the AMP2, and if the AMP5 is decent (high power with a good noise level) I think I might purchase it also. Screw my wallet, right?

I'm using Fostex TH-900 mk2 as primary headphones with DX200 and AMP1 and they sound terrific.
Soon I'm considering an upgrade to either AMP3 or AMP4, but cannot find any reasonable comparison. Could someone point me to the difference between them? I only see they have TRRS versus TRRRS connector but nothing sound-wise. Is there maybe a head-to-head comparison somewhere as I didn't find it.
Thanks in advance!
