Damn, that was quick! Are u moving to Amp8 ? Or into AK SP1000

Going to try the Amp 8. As much as I like the Amp 4s, I can't really justify having 3 modules for the DX200 and the Mojo/Poly. Not from a cost point of view but more from not having time to listen to them all!!

I'm waiting for someone to compare AMP 8 to AMP 4 before I make my jump to one or the other to pair up with my A18t CIEMs. . . . but it looks like one of them will be mines. . .eventually.

Hi guys I have an issue which is becoming increasingly frustrating. I mainly use my DX200 to stream tidal. However on occasions I still add music from my FLAC collection to it . The problem I have is that when I attach the usb c cable to my lap top it does not recognise it . The cable is working as it starts to charge the 200. However I am unable to swipe the screen and bring up the file transfer option on the 200.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated

I don’t have another usb c cable, but if I knew this would solve it I would buy one . I don’t understand as it charges it with no issues. Thanks for the reply

I have over 10 USB C cables. A couple will charge only. They are more sensitive than the past USB cables, in my experience. I would bet that another one will work fine. They aren't that expensive and for any cable, I always have extras. On the USB C, even one of my most expensive ones is messed up but when they work, they are great and a number of them always work fine.

I had the same problem, for charging the usb cable was ok, but if i wanted to transfer music or using as a dac, i couldn't, once i changed cable all the problems disappeared.

Try with one of these 2 cables:

I'm waiting for someone to compare AMP 8 to AMP 4 before I make my jump ....

Being a Theoretical Physicist by profession, a former engineer at JPL, and (most importantly) a novice Audiophile, I can almost formally declare with complete 50% accuracy that the AMP8 will be TWICE as nice as the AMP4.

For me it will be about tuning and synergy as much if not more than performance, so that's the big unknown that might justify getting AMP7 or prefering AMP4. But I do look forward to such an intrepid design, unheard of in a DAP.

It's so great to have the choice and flexibility of the AMPs
(1,2,3,4,5 and now 8 and counting)

I wonder if AMP8 will work with 4.4mm pentaconn adapters without use of a spacer. It'd be nice to plug in directly without needing to add the spacer. I know not all adapters need the spacer but my pentaconn one from Effect Audio does.

No , Pentaconn never need spacer, unless one of them is not* Pentaconn

Is anyone getting a loud pop every time you start playing music and/or pausing and playing back again? This is happening only on Android and on all players (Mango, Neutron and UAPP). I can turn on auto mute from the Android settings and this loud pop disappear, but at the expense of cutting about 1 sec at the start of each track being played.

In pure mango mode, this is not a problem.
