Tough question. I have the AMP4s, and I like it. And I plan on getting an AMP8. If I could get an AMP4 now though, I probably would. And then sell one of them off later I expect.

Is there a possibility that the incoming Amp8 could sound better than the Holy Grail , that is Amp4 ?. If you had an offer or a chance to cop an Amp4 now would you pass and wait for 8?

Ok, I am officially stunned that dx200 is the only portable device that does Native DSD512 playback .....what ? Not WM1Z, not SE1000. The upcoming LPG Touch will be able to, but DX200 is officially and has been for more than a year !! Amazing !

@Paul - iBasso the D512 natively may be a little stutter randomly, I guess an upgraded firmware may solve the issue? I have yet to upgrade to the latest yet

Actually, if you attempt to buy the amp4 from the iBasso website by finding a old link on google, it says $999 at checkout.

I paid about $250 from classifieds for AMP 4, 4S after shopping cost me $220 so I guess $30 for it being rare isn’t too bad.

Do you have the album on the internal memory or on a card. It could be the card speed. If on the internal memory their shouldn't be a problem. After the latest FW update did you do a factory reset? Sometimes after a FW update there are artifacts of the previous FW and doing a reset cleans all that off. Another customer had a right, left imbalance but not on the previous FW. A factory reset cleared it. You never know.
