To implement 4.4mm socket (which takes more room than 3.5mm) you would need a balanced amp architecture, using 2x NuTube modules. I don't believe there is enough room for 2 modules, and mechanical mountings for both, and the rest of the analog ckt to go along with it. At least, going by Cayin N8 explanation why their NuTube output is only 3.5mm single ended, not enough room for 2 NuTubes (and extra power consumption). Of course, at this point I'm just speculating  But I think single ended output amp9 makes more sense, otherwise I'm not sure how you can make a true balanced output using only a single NuTube module.
Yes, I am with you pretty much there

Hey, I can get a dx200 with amp 5 for cheaper than with amp 1. Will I need amp 1 if I'm aiming to get amp 8?

I wouldn't mind an AMP9s that is longer to fit the 2 tubes, but that would probably up the cost. Also, the DX200 would no longer fit in the leather case.

It depends on what sound you want. AMP1 has a more neutral/brighter sound compared to those 2 amps, which are both on the warmer side.

You might want to verify with the seller. A lot of times the ads for a DX200 that comes with everything stock PLUS an extra amp module will only be listed as "DX200 with AMPx" but it still includes AMP1 as well.

At £5.99 it was worth a go. You are right TIDAL is much smoother and much more responsive. My only issue is I download TIDAL albums to my 200 to use offline when on the go and holidays and I do not think I can do this using UAPP.
I could of course use Tidal with UAPP and then go back to the other method to access the downloaded content. This is not ideal though.
The UAPP may also take some getting used to as the Menu system seems a bit clunky to me. Thanks again

Hi guys. Can anyone help me with this . I have downloaded UAPP but it appears I can’t use tidal offline with the UAPP app. Am I missing something obvious here . Tidal with the dx200 last night was a nightmare , when searching it was taking two or three seconds to recognise each letter I typed into the search bar .

Womaz, hey I’m not sure if you’re aware, Tidal offline is only available in the official Tidal app. LIcensing, copyright issues I’m sure. Unfortunately, there is no all in one solution that I’m aware of right now. Perhaps someone else can chime in, i’m really not sure why the Tidal app operates so poorly on just the DX200.

Did anyone know AKM released new flagship AK4499EQ ? I wonder if Ibasso is going to do anything with it :D ?
Looks promising, however the power consumption (667mW) is almost as twice as as it's previous flagship. It's even higher than 9038pro and 9028pro rating at 500mW.
I bet this thing generates lots of heat, maybe even hotter than 9038pro.

Defintely consumes more than 9038Pro, but look, back at 2 years ago, no one would believe Ibasso could implement 2xEs9028Pro into a DAP....hell, even ATM, no other companies could pull it off, and pricing it the way Ibasso do.

Who know what Ibasso May do with AK4499EQ ? Who knows ? Lol

If it doesn't run like an oven then I'm all in.
Though, I would be more interested in dual 9038pro.
I got a few demos with SE100 and the sound is just amazing but it's hot like a summer afternoon and that's just one 9038pro. Probably, also the reason why we don't see see any 9038pro dap coming out because manufacturers are not able to deal with the heating issue with making it in pocket size.
On another hand, Dx200 runs very hot with youtube continuously for half an hour.
