Do you know if the Final Audio type E will fit?
Yep, Final E have been very reliable for me with many IEMs, and SA6 Mk2 is no different. They fit the IEM nozzle well and grip enough so they never get left behind in my ears like some other tips can do.

Do the final E-tips not make the SA6 sound even darker? possibly toy much treble reduction? As far as comfort goes I have found Final E Tips to be very comfortable but lacking in isolation

You know, I never bothered tip-rolling the SA6 mk2, I just went with Final E out of the box as I've had so much success with them in the past, and it was no different this time around either.

Now I've gone back and forth with the wider-bore Azla Sedna EarFits, they do 'open up' the sound a bit, pushing stage perception to the edges slightly at the expense of stage depth, which creates a more diffuse centre-image. This is with the tuning switch in the bassier "On" position.

I prefer the rounder, more spherical 3D stage with the Final E's, but it's great to be able to mix it up with tips and of course the tuning switch.

It's unusual that I'm early to the party, but I'm really enjoying SA6 mk2!

I don't have any other IEMs in this price bracket to directly compare, but so far I'm really impressed with what SA6 mk2 delivers. Tuning-wise it's rather similar to my 64 Audio U6t and A12t, so there is plenty there to like from it's elevated sub-bass with a pleasing amount of mid-bass warmth, and treble that is fairly detailed without any unwelcome peakiness. This is an IEM that will work well with any genre you choose. I've run it through a gamut of Rock, Classical, EDM, Rap, Metal, Ambient and others, so far it's been a real winner, and I'm finding it pretty addictive.

I'll need a bit more time to assess longer-term fit and comfort, which is something I've really come to appreciate in both the universal U6t, and of course the custom-fit A12t, but so far I like it's quasi-custom shell design, and my go-to Final E tips are a good match.

Technically SA6 mk2 cannot keep up with either of the 64's, but then that's what you pay for going up to the higher tiers. For example SA6 mk2 has pretty good soundstage, in fact I'm appreciating the amount of depth it does have, giving it almost a spherical sort of shape; depth is something that can be challenging to get right, and the SA6 mk2 does fairly well. But it's overall a bit smaller, and doesn't extend as far in any direction. This translates into dynamics that don't have quite as much contrast or punch by comparison. I'm also finding SA6 mk2 not quite as refined with treble precision or sharpness, sometimes notes have a slight edginess or "fuzz" to them.

But. These are actually small differences, and the comparison here is a good example of diminishing returns. Depending where your budget lies, you may be happy to pay a premium for an additional 5-20% technical performance improvement. If not, then the SA6 mk2 is a fine IEM that I believe will make a lot of people happy.
Hi, as I see you have both Dunu SA6 mk2 and Andro 2020 - could you compare the sound ? Thanks.

Sure thing, first of all I’ll say that SA6 MkII and Andro2020 are both great IEMs, and either one would be a great choice depending what you’re after.

Andromeda has a reputation as a “bass-lite” IEM, and you notice this straightaway when comparing with SA6 MkII. The SA6 sub-bass digs very deep and despite using balanced armature drivers, still hits pretty hard especially with its tuning switch set to ”ON”, and is a lot of fun with EDM or other bass-heavy music. Andromeda’s advantage in this area I think is in its relatively elevated mid-bass and lower midrange, which gives the Andro a warmer sort of sound that draws you into the music a bit more. Moving up the FR, Andromeda has more presence in the upper midrange and treble, which gives it better ability to resolve finer details in the music.

Soundstage is also an interesting comparison, as both do this well but in different ways. SA6 MkII stage is not large, but it does have good depth relative to its width, and produces a near-spherical sound image. Andro is more of an elliptical shape, with more width than depth, but it is noticeably larger, and gives a more specific, more accurate perception of where instruments are placed within the sound image from left to right.

For details and resolution, Andro is a pretty clear winner, its sparkly upper mids and treble are what it’s well-known for, and that makes it much better at presenting those fine details. SA6 MkII is good, but you’ve got to concentrate and focus in on a bit more to hear all of the detail, whereas with Andro it’s all there for you.

On the intangible side of things, DUNU include the Mini Hulk cable with it’s Q-Lock system that lets you swap from 3.5 to 4.4 or even 2.5 if you have that, so if you’re going to change back and forth with sources that use different plugs you might want that. And another thing to consider about Andromeda is just how source-sensitive it can be depending on the output impedance of the DAP or amp you are using, and of course Andro is known to hiss with some sources. You want something around 1ohm or a bit less to get the best bass-response possible with Andro, any more than 2ohm it will really sound limp.

So what to choose? Well they are both rather different, so if you want more of an all-rounder, neutral-with-bass-boost kind of sound, then SA6 MkII is a great IEM for that. Andromeda2020 is a bit more of a specialist and despite bing a bit lacking in bass, it does have a more engaging, lively kind of sound that draws me into the music I’m listening to more.

If there’s any way you can have a listen to one or the other, that’s the best way to know for sure what’s best for you, good luck!

thank you for such a detailed answer. There are a lot of reviews on the Internet, but I really appreciate the opinion and description of a direct user. Recently I had the opportunity to listen to Andromeda 2020 and I am very impressed. Compared to my iems, this tuning is different, as you said it draws into music.

I definitely see Andro in the collection, although the price is significant, so I started researching potential competition . Thank you again for your reply.

Random recommendation

Used a coin and a carpet knife to cut these holes into the strap that hifigo sent me with the SA6 MK2.

Now I actually use the strap with multiple iems because I don't have to detach the cables from the iems every time and risk damaging the connectors. The iems just pass straight through.

Really convenient and so simple

just got sa6 mkii, this is my 3rd Dunu iem.
Sound is very pleasing, and very easy to drive.
But, its spinfit tips seems not that fit to the nozzle. my own spinfit 100 fit better.
