DUNU DN-2000J -- More Than Evolution?

May 19, 2016 at 5:51 AM Post #1,891 of 2,123
My sound signature is quality and quantity in bass(most important)..and good separation and resolution and transparent trible..sorry if my description is weak

Are you sensitive to treble in any way?  Are there other earphones you've heard which you liked or disliked?

I have connected to FiiO X1 and FiiO E17K and in many cases is like listening to the song again ...
I have a question rookie .. that gain recommend?
Thank you

You should set the gain at low and if you get enough volume, leave it there.  Only use higher gain if you need more volume than the pot will allow on low.  With the DN2KJ you should be using low gain on both X1 and E17K (I have all of those).

Noob question.
I really like my 2000j. After not using my X2 for some time, I decided to plug them into my 6s and listen to couple of songs that I only listen while on the go. OMG, X2 just sound so much better :).
So, I am confused now. Are X2 that much better (and if so, are there IEMs that are comparable), or is it just a preference (like I've said, total noob here) thing ?

The X2 has a much more "exciting" and "fun" somewhat dark sound with a big, boisterous bassline.  Treble, being MUCH less harsh than on the DN-2000J, allows you to to turn up the volume.  It's that sound signature you prefer.

Also,

I really like my 2000j, but I keep thinking that my iphone6s is holding them back.
I would rather not use 2 devices, unless there really is a world of difference.

The iPhone 6S is a great device with excellent audio output capabilities.  Read this:

Are you referring the Philips Fidelio X2?

Edit: I have an iphone 6s plus as well as an Oppo ha2, there's not a "world" of a difference like there was with ipod 5 vs oppo ha-2, but it's still noticable when using the dn-2kj

It might be helpful to find out what signature he actually likes first.  Assuming an EDM lover is automatically a basshead who wants big bass is a generalisation and a big one.  I quite like EDM - but I don't overly like enhanced bass.

Its not until you have a complete picture that you can start recommending anything.  And your tastes may be directly opposite to his.

The 2000J will definitely WOW you then - extremely clear. Still one of my favourite IEMs.  Another to consider would be the Jays q-Jays (new model). And with the E17K you have the option of adjusting the treble to suit your taste.

Hello Brooko !

I 'm in doubt about take the Dunu DN2000 or the DN2000J . The price is higher on the 2000J and the sonic differences are not big , but the price is .I have a friend que have an DN2000 and he likes a lot. He says que it has enough high ( and sometimes a little in excess ) and a good emphasis in bass , que are incredible . The 2000J has even more highs and it I 'm afraid about it ( sibilance and fatigue ) . It has less bass too . Do you think que the DN2000J really is an improvement over the DN2000 ? Which are the differences (I Know que go something in the high and bass ) . Its worth , Considering the difference in price ?

Thanks!

For my preferences it definitely was - but I prefer a less bassy, colder and cleaner signature. The 2000 is warmer and bassier - but not overly so. If you're sensitive to a brighter signature - the 2000 would be the better choice.  Another to look at is their new DN-2002.

Hello, for me, the problem of sibilance does not exist. I put volume to 20-25 in FiiOE17K and no problems with that. Also play with the treble.
I`m very happy with bass, are very clear and are present.

On the other hand, was surprised a heavy rain yesterday with Dunu in my ear .. they withstood very well without any problem.

After a very long delay and struggling with unforeseen high workload, finally I managed to post the DN-2000J review:

Probably too late... but well...
