I had the 2000J's and have the x1, and they sounded fantastic together. I was never bothered by brightness on the 2000J's from any source I used though.

I'm happy owner of DN-2000J since 2 weeks I found a perfect connection with pioneer XDP-100R Right now I'm using Dunu with silicon back tip + bass ring + blue distance ring + smallest silicon ear tip. Does it make sence to try Spinfit silicon ear tips ? What do you think guys ?

For me, make an incredible partner, and also if you use a dac / amp how FiiO E17k is the perfect combination...
 
surely with the X3, X5, X7 you have higher quality but for me the X1 meets my expectations.

I have been reading for some time in here and learned a lot but i have learned more by listening to different phones. It is an expensive hobby

. You don't always save money by buying cheap.

Came to think of it. Anyone new to this hobby looking for their first IEM should take a good look at this. It will give you more than a substantial slice of what it's all about for less than $30 bucks.
