DUNU DN-2000J -- More Than Evolution?

i got the ibasso dzero mk2 along with my dn2000js and with lg g4 it's getting a ton of hiss.  popping and distortion occasionally too.  most of the time it's alright and don't hear the hiss when playing music but it seems i could be having a better overall experience.  i also had to use Hiby music player (wasn't compatible with Rocket Player).  Starting to think i should return them and either go with the dragonfly black as well or the Fiio E18.

You'd be fine with the Fiio Q1, which is cheaper than both of those options.

I'll add the Dragonfly Black to that list.

Oops. More coffee before commenting. My Red is arriving today and I'm a wee anxious.

Been comparing the 2000J to Shure SE535 today.  The 2000J's wipe the floor with the SE535, so much more open and clear; and the high and low frequencies extend much for with the 2000J.  The SE535 have slight more forward mids.  The 2000J are a phenomenal IEM.  The SE535 are going up for sale.

Cheers.

I have never been a Shure fan either. With that said, I think their IEMs had their time of glory 5 years ago, but with the releases today, they don't stand that much of a chance anymore. Wouldn't be surprised if they were working on improving their current product line

well they appeal more to your daily consumer as compared to a seasoned audiophile

Have you heard the SE846 yet?
I agree that their iems aren't of particularly great value.

the flc8s cost 1/3 of se846 and is better lol

Well, that's subjective.  I've heard very good things about the SE846's bass.

No hiss on the 2000J using Dragonfly Red. The Red is pretty powerful and I had to drop the gain on USB Audio Player PRO to 1/5 to get some headroom otherwise 2 clicks on the volume slider was uncomfortably loud. So far it seems to add much more "bite" and "energy" to the sound almost like it's trying to player louder that I want it to. Also, sibilance has been eliminated. Deeper impressions after I get some more head time with this thing. AQ recommends 24 hours of burn-in.
