DUNU DN-2000J -- More Than Evolution?

As I read your post, I was just listening to the Trinity Hyperion and then switched back to the DN-2000J. Perfect timing I guess.
2000J is brighter sounding than Hyperion with stock silicone (white) tips but with Comply TX-500 or james444 mod, I find they sound quite similar tonally.
Some people mentioned that Hyperion is like baby 2000J and I can agree with many aspects. (FQ response, airy and spacious soundstage, clarity & imaging)
However my comparison maybe not totally accurate since my Hyperion is not in stock form. I did toothpick vent mod + hifiman filter mod to make it more balanced sounding IEM.
Hyperion, even with these mods, has 3-4db more bass than 2000J. Bass is not as fast nor detailed like 2000J but it really hits hard with right amount of decay and has pretty good texture.
Isolation is slightly better on Hyperion and it is more comfortable to wear. Build Quality is very good on both.

Thanks @tgx78, also how would you compare the soundstage?

Note tgx78 is talking about the Hyperion. My graph (comparison) was the Delta

And Levi - I won't compare the two for you as I definitely don't hear the 2000J soundstage like you've described. So any further comparison from me would be meaningless

@levi, have you tried the Fidue A83 or FLC8?

Hello, no I haven't tried either of those but I'm only interested in the 'straight housing' type of earphones rather than full-on IEM style. I have experienced a fit issue with just about all IEMs I've ever tried, and even the 2000J didn't fit right with my odd ear shape one a bit different than the other. So I'm not exactly sure if I need a tube-ish shape IEM or if other shapes would also work, but the main thing is that it should be easy to insert / remove quickly and can go in deep.

I really like bass on my T-peos H-200. Is bass on dn-2000j is at least good as on h-200?

The Altone has excellent bass but IMO the bass on the Dunu's is world class. I would definitely recommend auditioning the Dunu before buying cuz I love how the T-peos digs in and you may prefer it over the Dunu.

You know what's a really comfortable IEM and sounds really good is the VSonic GR01. Also, the EarSonics SM64 has been praised for it's fitment and sound.

Sorry to risk going on a slight tangent - I'm loving the DN2000J while on the move and at work, but wondering what the equivalent full-size headphone for home use?

Quality wise, H200 bass is one of the best I've heard from hybrid IEMs. It used to be my number 1 but that position has been taken by the DN-2000j - just a bit more detailed and refined.
In terms of quantity, the H200 has more and leans toward bass head territory whereas the DN-2000j is more closer to neutral.

Hope that helps.

Thanks. Maybe I just should stick with h-200 if I like how they sound, my only problem with them is comfort issue...

Beyerdynamic T1

Thanks! I'll give them an audition.

Just plugged my DN2000Js into my Violectric V200 amplifier - I know its overkill, but no hiss and the music is just sublime, with no hint of sibilance =D

Does the amp affect sibilance? Just got a pair of DN 2000J and it's been a blast listening to. Only problem is that sibilance. I mean Frank Sinatra's ssssss rip through my eardrums.
