I believe people have been talking about it being more V shaped than the non J. So, less mids.

Do you mean those ERJI impressions? Or where have you read other impressions? To me, the DN-2000J sounds less V-shaped than the normal "non-J" version. But it is "colder" in some ways --- definitely brighter up top, so the DN-2000 might come off as more "mid-centric" by comparison. However, both are still V-shaped responses, and unless they changed the tuning by a lot this final time, I feel the DN-2000J is clearly a step forward to the regular DN-2000 on the technical side. I wouldn't call it a "reference response", because that would connote very flat tuning, but it's very good and very, very detailed.
Did the smaller dimension result in a better fit compared to the original? One of my complains for the original was that it was kind of tricky to get a good fit in my ears.

It is very slightly better fitting, but mostly because of the weight distribution in the ear. It torques less, so it'll fall out less. The difference isn't huge, though --- quite subtle.

Is it more detailed then the titan1

I think so! Comparing some pictures, the 2000J seems to have more details than the Titan 1. For example, the DN2000J has the DUNU logo printed on its back.

Might have to sell my A83s for these. The lack of isolation is starting to annoy me when listening at work.

Hold your horses, people! We don't even know when the final product is going to be finished!

They've told me that once they have it, they'll truck it over to me, but even I have no idea when that will happen!
(I might do my first video for it, if only to test out my new macro lens.)

This does look like a very well thought-out improvement of the DN2000. I've heard the DN1000 and was very impressed, so this should be quite a find.

I just realized that the bass ring is designed to block the pressure excursion port built into the front side of the DN-2000J, like that of the AKG3003.

As mentioned by Rin Choi in his analysis of the K3003, he blocked the port and there was about 6 dB increase in bass at 20 Hz. I foresee a similar effect with the DN-2000J's bass ring.

Personally, I prefer dynamic drivers that have adequate venting. They tend to sound more natural when they can breathe freely. So I can't imagine I'll like the effect of the bass ring, but we'll see.

Here's another Chinese site review of the DN-2000J, posted a few hours ago: http://pie.pconline.com.cn/618/6185818.html (Chinese)

Here's an excerpt that I think is telling:

Rough Translation:
There have been those who've mentioned that vocals on the DN-2000 are recessed and not that great; at that time, I couldn't hear what they were talking about (I don't even think the TF10 has recessed vocals, so of course I wouldn't be able to hear it). This time around, the DN-2000J has given me the impression that they've bolstered the midrange, and I feel that its vocals are more forward compared to the other IEMs that I have on hand. It'd be apt to characterize it as a mainstream-oriented earphone made for vocal reproduction, so I doubt anyone would say that its vocals are recessed this time around. Driven directly from my portable audio players, the treble of the DN-2000J doesn't seem overly bright and instead flows smoothly, with great extension. I sincerely believe the DN-2000J has great treble.

Personally, although I still haven't heard the final version, the prototype seems to be very slightly laid back in the mids (less so than the Titan 1). Nothing serious. Plays to the "big, open soundstage" feel. Just don't expect creamy, in your face mids.

Other than the person's characterization of the overall sound, I would take that reviewer with a grain of salt. He has the IE80, AX60, and TF10, and says that the DN-2000J is better than all of them, but it's really not setting the bar so high. There needs to be a direct comparison to the K3003. I would do that, but of course, I don't have the DN-2000J on hand to make a comparison.
