We're going to need to compromise. In about two weeks I'll have DN-2000 on loan and tell you exactly how they sound.

This is doing my head in I'm so in want of a new purchase and I can't bring myself to purchase these yet ! There waiting in my shopping cart but this talk of recessed vocals is putting me off. Shout out who thinks these lack true vocal emotion ??? And source would be useful because I think i will make a purchase of the fiio x5 as a nice little marriage.

Looks like they "fixed" it.  The price is $299 now (5% off).
