Now I wish I hadn't seen more pictures haha. I much prefer Dunu's prototype mmcx sheath over the final aluminum shell they went with.Any chance of Dunu/Vivian selling me a similar prototype? 

But at least now I know amazons listing is most likely real as they're using camera shots instead of just 3d models like on penon's site... although caspadan's experience makes me question the quality of the connectors and their lifespan.

  For those with the 2002.  I just want to find out, when wearing cable down how exactly do you place these in your ears?
What I'm looking to find out is if the back of the earphone is pressed against your outer ear or if it points straight out?  I think this depends on the tips, but I'm trying to get an idea.  The previous DN models press against the ear but then they fit snuggly.

Does anyone know if there is a semi-opaque film over the logo on the back of the shell of the DN-2002? Mine has looked faded (like I've had it for years) right out of the box.  I'm tempted to try to remove, what may not even exist and possible remove the whole logo. Not a big deal but photos I've seen look so vivid. Really, it's all about the sound!

Gosh, no, do not attempt to pull anything off!  I really don't think there is anything there to pull off.  And yes, mine too looks faded.  I'm just glad you mentioned it, so now I'm not alone.  I wouldn't worry about it though.  Sound is what matters.   Now if only my hooks would arrive!

Word I got from Dunu Taiwan is the DK-3001 has been released, so hopefully reviews and impressions will come in soon.

Curiously the name has reverted back to DK-3001 as opposed to DN-3001.

I've recently bought the dk3001 via taobao @ 3080 rmb. 442usd. Im not that good at describing things, but comparing it against the 2000j, it's warmer and bassier, clarity details and separation is on par if not better. The cables provided are really nice however the memory cable is a bit too long and too thick if worn with glasses. The fit however is a bit awkward, but can be fixed with comply or the spinfits provided. Less assescories than was provided with the 2000js. I may have to burn them in a but more for them to open up.
The 3001 is a great upgrade with the removable cable and over ear design.

Aw.  I was wondering when someone would get them.  I'm really happy with my DN-2002s actually - and fit is a thing of the past for me.  Unfortunately, I cannot afford anything else at this point, so I will have to just settle for a while now.

Thanks for sharing these DK-3001 info here, acturally DK-3001 are not available so far except mainland China and Japan, because we made a small change on the earbud to improve the fitting during these days, the new DK-3001 will be available on around mid of Jan to those retailers, don't worry about the frist batch of DK-3001, we'll provide some more accessories if you'd like to improve fits, PM me I'll let you know the details
