Every year around this time I get an itch to buy a new pair of headphones - been looking for a good set of IEMs.

I was thinking of getting the RHA T20s , now I'm thinking I should wait and save up for the 4001s. I'm sure they'll be too rich for my blood.

DN-1000 is superior to RHA T20 and you can get it for $177 from amazon. It's excelent, it does what many other "top-tiers" don't, especially the 3 driver ones from the past (SM3, UM3X, W3, etc). Anyways, waiting for DK-4001 can be a good bet. Let's wait for some feedback.

Been reading up / watching video reviews on the DN-1/2000(J) models and I'm pretty much sold on waiting a bit longer.

I'd prefer to have a replaceable cable if at all possible. The new models also look to wear better over the ear which is what I also prefer in IEMs.

Am I alone in being concerned about the mmcx connectors? Don't they have a lot of issues?

I see tons of issues on Shure SE215 threads...or is that primarily a Shure QA thing?‎

i prefer robust fixed cables to mmcx. i find it more reliable.
