Hey guys, so ive been listening to my DT880s for a while and absolutely love them, but i realized I never looked at the packaging and I sometimes just like to read the boxes and stuff.  Well looking over all the labeling and stuff the box says that they are 250 ohm, however, there was a sticker on the top of the box that says "Audiophile 600 ohm Version" or something to that extent.  Can anyone confirm that theirs were like this also?  I dont mind particularly, but Id be a bit bothered because the guy at the shop said they were the 600 ohm model when i bought them, Im just a bit paranoid haha.  And if they are indeed NOT the 600 ohm model, Ill be taking them back for a refund and ordering from somewhere online.

thx

Check the headphone plug to see if "600Ω" is stamped into the plastic.

The most foolproof way is to measure it with a multimeter. Put one lead on the tip of the 1/4" plug tip, and the other lead on the plug's metal sleeve closest to the plastic. It should read close to 600.

Definitely take action if it's not 600 ohm as claimed. The 250 ohm version is cheaper and less sought after.

Oh, itll be stamped onto the plug?  Cool, Ill be sure to check that as soon as I get home.

and yea ill definitely be doing something if it isnt, since I alraedy spent like $80 extra to buy it that day instead of waiting a month and a half til i get home and order it from amazon haha

guys, mine Manufaktur 600 ohm (early version) doesn't have any marks on neither side. However, the invoice shows it is 600 ohm.

So, the most safest way is by multimeter.

or if it's not stamped in the plug, it might be stamped on the rubber wire going into the headphones :D
