Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but it seems like the Beyerdynamic DT770s are November's flavor of the month. Tons of threads popping up about them... have they always been this popular?? In any case, I gave in to the devil whispering in my ear and just bought a pair

DT 770/80's have always been a very popular phone around here, but I have noticed an unusual number of threads about them lately. I almost considered making them my next purchase instead of an mp3 player today.

I tried a pair of those headphones out at my local Guitar Center, but the bass was a little too boomy for my tastes, like a subwoofer. It's like a dance club wrapped around your ears! If only they came with scantally clad young women to dance around you while wearing them

I don't know, there's an awful lot of Goldring DR-150 chatter lately considering it's not widely available in the US.

That and the big upswing in stax-related threads that are not The Stax Thread.

The number of dt770 posts seems about normal, actually--they're consistently very popular headphones. However, the number of d2000 threads has jumped significantly in the last two weeks. I would call them FOTM.

No way can the DT770 be a FOTM. It's been far too popular for far too long. The DT770 is what turned me into a headphone junkie. Without them, I wouldn't have turned into one.

And that from learning about them here on head-fi - almost 3 years ago...
