Just go buy an L3000. From the way people talk about the L3000, if that does not satisfy you, then no headphone will.

Yes but apart from being almost impossible to get hold of and an order of magnitude differens in price it is a completely differnt kid of bass. I had a Darth'ed 770 for a short while but sold them again as the bass was just way to overwhelming and out of control for me but I love my L3000.

As probaply said, OP most likely bloated mid-upper BOOMBOOM bass. DT770 arent that kind of headphones. There is some boom, yes, but most of all it has satisfyingly deep and clean guttural subbass frequencies. I dont know what HD212 sounds like, but im sure you arent paying attention for the right frequencies, the deep REAL bass ones.

I think we have an official rule that if you don't think that any form of the DT770 has enough bass, you're officially branded a basshead, right?

Edit: Either that or a car audio goon who is deaf below 120hz.

Indeed you're correct, that would be rule 37, subsection B.

Which reads "If you think that any form of DT770 doesnt have enough bass, you are officially a basshead" on the second line.

I am in the process of acquiring a Corda Move from a fellow head-fi'er with the intention of eventually powering some DT770s with it. Do you think the Move will put out enough current to power them well or should I start saving my pennies to get a home amp as well?

DT770 should be driven by home amp not potable amp.

You should differentiate "can drive" and "drive well." too.

@Ssang: if you expect to hear bass more than HD212, stick with DT770 and find the good amp is the best way.

or you can take a look at HD650, but in the same case, you need good amp, too.

HD595 and AD700 are not as bassy as DT770 and HD650, so don't waste your money for those.
