Dt 880s (250ohm)

The DT880s are up there alright. High end stuff isn't that much better at all as opposed to what you may hear people say.

Mid-fi is the sweet spot. You know you have something excellent but there is no buyer's remorse because it is not that expensive, unlike with high end stuff where you are spending loads of cash for very small improvements.

well there is a warehouse deal.for the 250ohm for 180 but its only "very good" condition instead of like new. I don't want to have to send back another pair then have over 400$ on my credit card bill when I didn't get anything yet

I certainly wouldn't describe the DT880 as "warm". Neutral yes, but warm?

I pulled the trigger on the DT 880s and then this happens and now I'm back to square one and don't know what to get

Opinions are like, well, you know....

Try 'em for yourself. That's the ONLY way to know if they're for you or not.
