Just as the title says, After 9 months of waiting, my Drop THX Panda's finally arrived at my doorstep. I unboxed them, used them for a few hours and they sound beautiful. Easily the best set in my small growing collection. But eventually they just without warning died about 5 hours after I took them off the charger and never worked again. At most I can plug them into a laptop and hear nothing but god awful static. No amount of charging on a myriad of different chargers and cables I've tested have worked.

I've been told on another forum this is about on par with other Drop.com products, Is it really normal paying almost $400 and waiting over 9 months to be a beta tester?

And incidentally, when I do plug them in via USB (type A and type C) They show up in Windows and Linux as an audio device immediately. (As seen in the imgur link above)

Anyways, I've already filed an RMA with Drop.com but I'm not expecting them to get back to me for another week minimum. Any advice or tips on what to do in the mean time? I apologize if this turned into a bit of a rant. When they do work they truly are an incredible set of headphones, I have no intention of refunding or selling them in the foreseeable future.

Yeah sorry for you. Happened to me with a popular chinese reseller as well, they sent me a disassembled DX160... You just got a bad faulty unit it seems. It's always a risk but some manufacturers are better than others at diminishing the risks. Go through the process, hopefully DROP can manage a new set to you quickly enough.
