is it necessary to get a amp for ms-2 to use as a protable rig? if yes which are the protable amps thats works well with ms-2? corda move? hornet? or?

Not as much as some of the other cans like the HD-650 and K701. Amping it, however, does tidy up its bass some and overall leads to a 'cleaner sound'.

For me it depends on the source. With a clean sounding DAP and adequate power, I find adding an amp is not really needed.

For portable use, I don't think amping is needed for MS2i especially if your DAPdoesn't have the line out.
I think you'd better save the money and get some home amps like RA-1 , MAD ear instead.

I found the MS2 much more pleasant to listen to with my PINT vs unamped out of my IPod. The highs were not as harsh and the bass was much more pleasant and controlled.

I agree with almost all of the posters above, it's not necessary to amp the MS2i, but with a line-out from a decent source, everything will just sound a tad clearer and less congested. That's what I found, anyway.

so i assume that ms2i with ipod5g will wrk as well as amped ms2i? not much difference from the amped ones? what are the other items that can pimp my rig? need some opinions frm users that use corda move with ms2i too..thanks!
