Do you think wearing full-size headphones in public makes you look like a spaz/geek/weirdo?

Damn
This thread is meant to be fun
But to contribute, I have walked around with my HD600
Really didn't have any problems except they got a little to hot and no isolation, so I stopped

But if I could install a fan and tape shut the opening, eh
Why not

Ha, my vote just made it a 50/50 split.

The AKG 271S was my first 'serious' headphone and when I wore them my wife looked at me like I was coming at her in a dark alley or something. I think that experience scarred me as I now would only wear my Atrios in public...

I use to wear my Senn 580's on a large college campus. Was too busy enjoying the music to notice if anyone stared.

I wear my Senn HD280s on airplane trips all the time and everyone who walks by my seat (I board early since I have standing with the airlines) does take a long stare at me... though again, I'm too busy totally enjoying the quiet passages of my favorite tunes to notice.

And yes, my wife does think I'm a complete geek for wearing even my Grado 125's on the train. Though I have noticed other Grado wearers too.

Waaaay cooler them earmuffs or hats with flaps in the winter. Summertime is for in ear or a boombox. Although I did sport RP-21 all over NYC and Boston for a week last summer, loved the sound and regretted the sweat. In general I think its a little easier to let people listen to your full size cans than your in ear joints especially here in friendly Colorado. I like the surprise people get when they hear even decent cans.

Besides, IEMs are so much better suited to out of doors listening than headphones it is silly to use headphones.

Any recommendation for IEMs that sound as good as my Q40s, cost $100 or less and are as comfy to wear? Seems every IEM I've tried hurts after 30min or so, I must have goofy shaped ears or something.

I picked the Grados partly because of how they look, so I would feel comfortable wearing them outside. Goes nicely with my vintage hoodie.

Couldn't wear the AKG 701s out, though. Definitely not.

I think YUIN PK1 can kill this thread.

they have a great soundstage for Earbuds... its unbelievable when i first heard them.

Now we need a new thread:

Do you think carrying Amps in public makes you look like a spaz/geek/weirdo?

That's just screaming for attention and crosses my threshold of what I consider acceptable.

If you carry it inconspicuously, then your a geek. If you wave it around like your something special then you're a spaz. If you carry it around in a fanny pack then your a weirdo + spaz.

You don't need an amp in your fanny pack to qualify as a wierdo and a spaz. The fanny pack qualifies you all by its chic little self.

I use a man-bag myself, seriousely.
but I don't bother carrying big headphone and amp in it. That would be weird.
