Do you have the best sound in the world?

Monk's got the best sound.

Anyway, I'll have to agree with this:

No, nor will I ever I suppose...though I am presently close with headphones!

I want more air out of my HP-1's (Stax-like)
I want a bigger 3D headstage out of my HP-1's (R10-like)
I want the timber of the RS-1's our of my HP-1's

That should do it

No, and to those who put "yes", you're delusional. There's no such thing as the "best" sound imho. Even if there is, it's definitely not headphones.

You're really enamored with that Luxman, aren't you?

I did... until I moved and something broke.

It was a short lived dream.

Kind of. I used this amp for years without ever realizing how much more potential it had if I upgraded the tubes, the source, etc. It always had this special sweet, warm quality that was distinctly it's own, and I always loved it for playing music. But with all the upgrades, it's really shining. I've never heard it this good before and it still retains that special sweet warm sound. I'm in love!!!

I'm glad it worked out so well. I have mostly vintage gear myself, it can be really enjoyable, and is especially good if on a very tight budget as I am.

I can honestly say i have the best sound of anyone i actually know and have access to their system but worlds best ?

Obviously a big NO even if there were such a thing considering all the possible variables in room style and furnishing/taste/music preference

I really doubt anyone here can truthfully vote 'yes'. To have the best sound in the world, you would need a perfectly tuned room, and you would have to have tried every possible combination of speakers-amps-sources-cables-preamps, interconnects, and any other part i missed.
