Like do you have a set for sitting at the house (not necessarily amped) and a set (or earphones) for when you're walking around or camping and what not?

Yes. Like many people, I love the sound of the open phones (HD595 and SR225i), but when at work they can disturb others or allow unwanted environmental noise to interfere with listening, so I use the closed K271. In my case it's not so much the disturbance of coworkers, but I sit next to a large web server which has fans constantly running inside of it.

when i want a bit of detail, UE triple.fi's.

It all depends on your mood. for example i there are certain ass heavy headphones like the Bose and AKG's that are good when you're in the mood, but it's nice to switch to something else when you're not.

- Portable? Home? Library?
- Mixing? Movies? TV?
- Positional audio gaming?
- Gaming where positional audio is not the highest priority?
- Rock? Classical? Jazz? Etc?
- Isolation from external sounds?
- Minimizing sound from leaking out that might bother others near by?
- Comfort with for hours of use?

But what if I want the BEST headphones?

At least consider the following:
- the use for the headphones (see above),
- the price of the headphones,
- and the equipment the headphones are plugged into (synergy).
