DO YOU HATE NICKELBACK?

dublo: have you ever analysed music before?
Chords are always similar, and chord recycling happens a LOT (much more than you'd like it to, I am sure).
No genre is free from it. Not even free jazz.

But you would be wrong.
His music hasn't been around for hundreds of years because it sucks

Oh, I don't know...there's a time and a place for Nickelback. I give it to anyband that can get the collective feet tappin' while makin some bread. I've just purchased a couple of Nickelback cds since this thread was started, it got me thinkin' about them and so I purchased a few so...maybe I'll buy 'em all up....so....

I CAN MAKE UP MY OWN DAM MIND.

Thanks...now back to your commercialised thread theme that is repeated hatred for a generation of haters!

Peace and Rock...Make love not war, brutha.

Nickelback are from a small town 2 hours from where I live. Do you want me to go egg their homes or something?

they are very blatantly sold-out / commercial arena/radio rock in nature, there is no doubt - I think they would admit it if asked ...

they're from a real B.F. town in Alberta Canada ... i'm sure they just wanted to go big and make bucks immediately after being up there for so long ...

its all very formula-strewn hook-y radio friendly music ... I don't hate them but I also don't opt to listen to them usually ever unless it's on the radio and im in a car or in public somewhere ...
the masses are asses and gobble this kind of music up readily ...

You'd be nuts to say something like that

I too have worked in a place that blasted pop radio 24/7, so I understand you're just venting a bit. And, really, Nickleback does suck. Nobody here would disagree with me. Still, the focus should be on what you do like.

Never said it sucks. I love Beethoven but all his symphonies sound the same.

You misunderstand me. I'm saying it sounds the same because all his symphonies use similar style and instrumentation. Never said they suck.

yeah I'm not sure I'd bring Beethoven into a conversation about a band whose music consists of repetition of a few 2-string power chords, never venturing outside a 4/4 time signature.
