Im reading off the box from the Sennheiser hd433.

*Dynamic Open-Aire Stereo Headphonese
*Natural Sound with Maximum Bass Response
*Superlightweight and Very Comfortable

Well, this remains the worst pair of headphone i bought for $27. There really is no bass what so ever, even when there are small traces of bass...I hear static, and it bottoms out. Feels heavy and clamps on my head.

On the other hand, Koss's trademark is 'Hearing is Believing'. Deep Bass.

How about the higher end and more expensive headphones, what does the box say?

decent Coby.

yes, true. this headphone sounds as good as my sporta pro. but its way too bulky and have lots of plastic parts.

Ive seen the same model with the Kenwood name on it. they have the kenwood in Goodguys, i checked it out and its the same headphone besides the name on the side.

now im not sure if i should remove 'decent coby' hhahahaha.

Are the Coby without the foam over the drivers, as shown there?

Never believe anything on the box, especially the specifications.

think of headphones in a box as 'woman in a box'. think you can put spec's and advertising to that? "will never complain, asks nothing of you, will leave you alone when asked, always available for sexual gratification, let's you play golf whenever you want, does not shop, great cook, excellent lover, great mother, let's you go out with the boys whenever you want, let's you drink beer all the time, prefers the toilet seat up, ..."

(ladies, i have my tongue firmly planted in cheek. please don't take offence).

splastik....bwahahhahhah. the pair i have is the same exact golden color. the comfort level is just as bad as grado, the driver plastic encasing crunches the ears.

My favorite is still the claims of a your general headphone being digital, as if human ears have built-in D/A conversion

I recall something on the Sennheiser HD 497 box like "exceptional comfort." Ha ha ha ha ha. That claim on the box has always struck me as bordering on the intentionally deceptive. Mine are now exceptionally comfortable, after stretching them obsessively for six months, but right out of the box they were NOT COMFORTABLE AT ALL.

Did someone say those headphones were decent? I find it hard to believe(!) They look like the same design as the IXOS dj-1004 & dj-1005:-
ixos_mos_dj1004.jpg
ixos_mos_dj1005.jpg

which in turn look identical to a pair of PRO-LUXE OA-550 headphones I had once. Wear these for 30 minutes and you will be in extreme pain, due to the fact that the drivers are not sufficiently inset into the cups... The things look circumaural but they are actually supra-aural. Ouch!

My pro-luxe had a massive peak in the response of about 13dB @ 1.8kHz. I played around with them on the EQ for a while and then thought the better of it, cut the cord off and ditched the phones. The quality cord, on the other hand, is now a very useful inline volume control (good for noisy soundcards, etc.).

So that's my long story about the Coby look-alikes.

BTW, the IXOS dj-1001 also seems to have a big peak around the same frequency. How about the Cobys/Nadys/Kenwoods?
