I switched from a conventional gaming headset (the Logitech G930) to a separate headphone and mic setup (Sennheiser HD598 + Blue snowball ice) because I wanted to get away from the typical “gaming” products and concentrate more on getting good quality sound for the same/less money.

After using the 598’s for about 8 months they are great, but a bit lacking in bass which was expected. In terms of sound quality, how does the Mobius compare to the 598’s? Is it worth the extra money? Does the price reflect superior sound quality or is there just a gamer tax attached to an otherwise basic headphone?

Also, where does the Mobius sit within the Audeze lineup in terms of audio? My local audio store has most of the Audeze headphones on display so would be good to have a listen to the closest pair of headphones for reference.

Lastly, putting the 3D surround sound and head tracking aside, how do these compare to other similarly priced gaming headsets?

I know the Mobius isn't actually out yet so I'm hoping some of the early backers can chime in.
