Let's say that you wanted to use my theme (already updated to 2.1).
Download here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/uzyf1fv8c9gvdu0/x3.7z
Unzip the file (to desktop for simplicity)
Copy the x3.fw file to the root of your SD card
Do a firmware update
After it reboots you should be able to select my theme (or whoever's you download) as theme # 1
If you want to do your own modding you can get the tools from the 1st post.

Hello,
I like the Extreme Dark theme quite a lot - just one error in it - the default volume selection buttons with text in image make a mess with other languages than English (two texts one over the other - it should be just highlighting, not containing fixed text.)
Would it be possible to leave there just the highlight?
I've fixed it in my player, but I'm not much of a painter :).
Also the "now playing" screen background sometimes overlaps with longer ID3 tags.
Thanks,
have a nice Christmas.

Hi All. Just for kicks I decided to make a theme based on the Pipboy from Fallout. I designed it to be used with lyric view - the full color artworks looks a little odd with the monochrome green. I included an alternative play_process_bg file in you do want to use cover. Just unpack the .fw and replace. I also update my previous theme. seems I missed a couple buttons.

Feel free to use and modify the files....

Is there software for Mac that can edit the fw/themes?

Not sure if there is a Mac version, but if you have even a short term access to a PC all you need it for is to unpack/pack the files. After the .fw file has been unpacked you end up with folders with text files, .png files (which should be editable on Mac, I used GIMP for my gfx, notepad++ for the text files), and the fonts are standard truetype. The biggest thing to remember is that all the gfx files need to have the same name and resolution as the file you are replacing.
Cheers.
