If memory serves, the Sony use the 3.5mm but dont use the same pins. Something like they use 3 pole 3.5mm but the tip is postive, the middle ring is nothing and the bottom ring is negative.

So just get a multimetere with continuity, and test which is which.

I'm trying to make a 4-pin XLR to dual 3.5mm cable work with my MDR-z7s. The cable works with my Fostex T-X0, so I assume it has to be rewired to work with the z7. Does anyone know what is required and if it's at the XLR termination or the drivers?

Thanks for any help.
Sony headphones require you to join the ring to the sleeve or just use mono 3.5mm

If you have a 4.4mm cable, I suggest using an adapter rather than re-terminating the cable.

My mistake, it's 3.5.

Either way, I don't see any dual 3.5 to XLR adapters.

Hello guys, been watching this thread and wanted to start learning to do my own cables, already bought the connectors but i'm struggling with the wiress i need to get.
I plan on ordering from Aliexpress, i suck at soldering so better not to start with expensive stuff.

I need to do:
2 6,35 Jack to RCA cables
1 Stereo, 3,5 Jack to 3,5 Jack cable
1 Senhheiser HD600 cable

I plan to finish them with paracord.

Any help will be appreciated, and if someone that already buy these wires and can share the links, even better.

Thanks!

I am looking for an audiophile grade female 1/4 inch in line jack to be used to make a 1/4 in to 3.5 mm adapter for headphone to DAP cable. So far the best I could find is from Neutrik. Are there any others???

The mentioned neutrik one is still pretty solid.
