I've done a bunch of tip rolling, but, like you, I also ultimately came back around to the Final Type E. Though I do still occasionally switch between L and LL sizes, depending on the insertion depth I'm going for.I took full advantage of my trip to Singapore by spending lots of time at Crinacle’s hangout and Zeppelin & Co.
While at Zep, I heard and purchased the Project M.
I loved the treble-emphasized tuning and tasteful but not overly emphasized bass.
I did some tip rolling experiments with Divinus velvet Wide Bore and Pentaconn Coreir AL (also wider bore). I personally found them both to over emphasize the treble, creating an experience to looking into a whacky mirror you can find at a carnival or circus - the image just made no sense to me. As such, I’m sticking with the Final E Type tips. I may be curious in trying other narrow bore tips in time. Until recently I never fully appreciated how much tips impact the sound!!!
I also absolutely love the build quality of this iem. The shell is stunning in both fit and finish. The Cardas cable has great insertion into the shell with some strain relief / non exposed conductors. The replaceable termination mechanism is also solid.
The case is fun, but could be better / bigger. But honestly I’m happy buying a better third party case for this iem. They deserve it.
The other purchase I made while in Singapore was the Mega5est, but talking about that here would be OT!
For folks visiting the little red dot, go check out Zeppelin & Co and the Hangout!!!

So people who own Dita PM, what are your current thoughts on its sound sig now that the hype has died down and all the 'reviews' have been posted?

I bought it used. It's a details monster iem. But I can't enjoy this iem for the sibilance. Maybe I am too much treble sensitive or my source doesn't match well.So people who own Dita PM, what are your current thoughts on its sound sig now that the hype has died down and all the 'reviews' have been posted?

Thank you for your reply. How treble sensitive are you?I bought it used. It's a details monster iem. But I can't enjoy this iem for the sibilance. Maybe I am too much treble sensitive or my source doesn't match well.
Asking cause I am treble sensitive too so PM might sound sibilant to me too.
And do you like the lowend?
I love mine. A very special and unique set. But it's become clear with time that some folks' ears can't deal with the treble. So people who own Dita PM, what are your current thoughts on its sound sig now that the hype has died down and all the 'reviews' have been posted?

I agree with this, definitely keeping my set, but I'm also not super sensitive to treble.I love mine. A very special and unique set. But it's become clear with time that some folks' ears can't deal with the treble.

I still use PM, they remain one of my favorites in my collection. Even though I have other much more expensive IEMs in my collection. So people who own Dita PM, what are your current thoughts on its sound sig now that the hype has died down and all the 'reviews' have been posted?

]If you liked the Project M but thought it was too spicy look at the Zephyr from KOTORI AUDIO $150 it's a better tuned M and not so spicy.

I reach for PM more than any other IEM in my modest stable - Mega5 EST, TS316, thieaudio oracle mk1, Campfire Ara (worst purchase I’ve ever made). Kiwi Ears Cadenza gets second most usage among my IEMs just because I use it at the gym.
Primary headphone is ZMF Caldera. I actually think there are some similarities between Caldera and Project M. They both, to my ears, have noticeable treble. I also like the lack of a complete bass shelf in PM and with just a slight emphasis on sub bass. The Caldera is even flatter on the bass and sub bass. As a result you get, on both sets, a very spacious sound signature. Also coherence on both sets is extremely high given the simple driver set up on PM and the planar driver on Caldera. Of course caldera is a resolution monster when driven well compared to the PM.
my 2 cents.

The treble is the reason why I wanted to ask for impressions of the sound. How is the lowend?I love mine. A very special and unique set. But it's become clear with time that some folks' ears can't deal with the treble.

Your Dita collection is almost complete. Happy to hear you like and enjoy PM.I still use PM, they remain one of my favorites in my collection. Even though I have other much more expensive IEMs in my collection.
I will get to hear PM very soon and will see how I react to the treble. 5 mins that I got with the set a few weeks bad, didn't seem that sibilant to me but 5 mins is too less to determine the sq.

I have a borrowed Mega5est with me and will be getting the PM loaned to me. I liked Mega5est. Now will hear PM. I plan on keeping one and returning the other. And can you share some more details on the lowend?
Treble works for me. It’s an unusual tuning that adds sharper “outline” to notes by emphasizing transients. I don’t get sibilance at all, but others do (at 49, my hearing still goes to 16-17kHz).The treble is the reason why I wanted to ask for impressions of the sound. How is the lowend?
But the low end is exceptional. It is the reason to own this set IMO. Best low end of any set I own. Elastic without being rubbery. Punchy without being boomy. The relaxed upper mids get out of the way of the low end, and the boosted treble adds (slightly artificial) emphasis to low end attack and decay. For me, the entire tuning is structured to emphasize the low end. Not because it’s a bassy set, but just an exceptionally clear and “alive” low end. Not sure how else to describe it.
IMO, Project M and Mega5EST are very different. The 5EST is a bassy, warm and lush sounding IEM, whereas the PM is much leaner in the midrange and bass, while being more "clean" and "detailed". I like having both, as I think they offer something very different from each other, and both are highly enjoyable to me.I have a borrowed Mega5est with me and will be getting the PM loaned to me.
