I really like the KSC75 but I can't use them if I'm in an area with lots of other sound since they are so open. I don't sense any bass when I'm walking around with them on the street or something. I honestly like the sound a little better than my UM1s but my UM1 is probably my most used headphone because of the isolation.

The sound to me is thin on the KSC75s and PortaPros compared to my PX100s and my iGrados. I'm trying to like them, but so far are my least used portables. I don't like the hassle of clip ons...the cord tangles easily, you can't pull them off your head and hang them around your neck, the clips are a little uncomfortable, the volume control swings back and forth when I bike. Too many little gripes for me to choose them over other portables.

I think they get over hyped here. Sure they're the best in their price range, but what else in they're price range is any good. The way they're hyped here most noobies are probably going to have inflated expectations.

I like the PX100 better then the KSC75, mostly because they're more comfortable. Of all of my headphones, I'd listen to the KSC75 over the PMX100 (because of comfort), the Senn earbuds, and the DT831 because it has no bass.

My opinion may change when I get around to modding them.

There are 2 different models, one has the volume and one doesn't.
Now that I've had them for a couple weeks and done the headband mod I really like them.

I tried to wear them on a bus recently but the noise from the bus drowned out the sound and I wished I had my marshmallows with me.

I use them about the same amount of time as I do my HD650, I think these HPs is so F&%(/&#* Good that it is scary.

BTW I use them with Rotel rcd-06 and MF X-can v3, the soundstage is HUGE!

I guess they just don't have the sound you like, or your nano plus might be the problem.

Haha exactly.

1. My KSC35s split time 50/50 with HD650's.
2. To me, the KSC35 (and 75) responds to amplification like no other headphone I've tried. The difference between the HD650/iPod and driven by a tube amp is less than the difference between the KSC35/iPod and KSC35/tube amp. Huge seamless imaging, and the bass just owns. The midbass hump is always gonna be there, but for some music that is just perfect.

Are they as linear, neutral, or refined as the Senns? Of course not. But they can disappear in a way that the Senns never do - leaving just the music.

At first listen, I was also disappointed with the KSC-75. However, with (a short amount of) time, I very quickly grew to like them. Then I did the quarter mod. Then the Kramer-mod. These 'phones are too good to be true for their price.

i might buy i shuffle i'll trade the stocks ibuds for the ksc75....just kididing.
disapointed????
the ksc75 is the only sub20 phones that i own that can produce such incredible sound. try to crank up the volume allittle bit and those stocks start to crackle while the koss perform effortlessly. if they just don't impress you, then i'm afraid to say nothing will imprsss you specially on price/performance basis.

Well, of course KSC75 are good for 15$. In europe are 30€ (about 40$). No so good, eh?
Anyway, KSC75 are not giant killers in any sense. I do not even prefer them to my portapros or px100.

Yes, that's what I did. I do not remember the price, but it was something similar. I was only comparing the USA price with common prices in europe. In fact, 30€ is the price from amazon.de. You can even found them for more than 30€ in B&M stores...

HD650 $300 KSC-75 $40 as said before I use them 50/50, still quite good value, right?

BTW "dizzyorange" you are spot on to what I think.

A mainly use mine for the gym and stuff where I don't want to take expensive cans. I think they are worth a lot more than their price. Female vocals are excellent on them. The don't have the range or impact of "better" cans but what they do do, they do very well.
