Hi all,

I was wrapping up my project tonight of converting my V6 to a female jack instead of that damn coiled cord. Already made my first 1/8" stereo cable last night which works great and was adding the jack to the headphones tonight. Removed the coiled cable, tapped the threads and screwed in the jack that I wired the leads on last night. Soldered the leads to the correct contacts on the driver. Continuity on L, R, and ground all tested fine from cable to contacts on the left driver but I get no sound from the left driver. Right side is fine. Is it dead (too much heat from soldering iron?) or am I missing something easy?

No one decided to post, so I will give it a whirl.

If the continuity is good, but you get no sound, try checking the resistance across the coil. Sometimes the wire could be damaged, but instead of completely breaking, the wire can hang on by a thread.

What you will see is continuity, but a large resistance across the coil.
