What does MR stand for then?

I wasn't really sure how the Diana MR would fit in the line up if it supposedly sounded like a mix of the V2, and TC, but was $500 cheaper than the V2 ($3000 mentioned in the video.) Saw this comment on the youtube video afterwards. I guess we will have to wait and see how it sounds vs the Diana TC's in terms of detail/technical performance. Sounds interesting though, for sure.

Not really surprising after the 1.8k deal emptying the leftovers of diana v2 (at least in north america, we still gotta pay the premium for EU fellows ^^)

Abyss MR

I tried the MR side by side with the TC yesterday, and it was my very first time listening to Abyss products. I must say I was quite impressed by the TC, but letdown just as much by the MR. I think the main problem is the fit, the clamping pressure is nonexistent and it makes for a lot of bass leak.

The build is very nice, but I think something needs to change design-wise to accommodate more head shapes.
I have the opposite fit experience when I tried their Diana line. The headband was not wide enough for me. So there always leakage at the bottom of the earpads.

I agree with you. Their headband design needs to be more accommodating.

Will the MR be able to be powered by the Chord Hugo 2?

Current Diana models including MR all have exactly the same fit.
The Diana platform has always had minimal clamp pressure, some are simply accustomed to the need for a tight seal as most other headphones lack bass without, not an issue with ours (as noted by the popular bass ported ear pads recently introduced).

These were my first impressions, and the bass was definitely present on the TC, I think it's just a show thing. The clamping pressure was so light that head movements would throw the headphones out of place, which is what surprised me the most. The headband design is something you could get used to, but I'm not a fan.

The MR had really different treble characteristics compared to the TC, is that by design ?

Looking forward to hearing more thoughts on the Diana MR vs. Diana TC vs. 1266 TC.

Really wish we could get a superimposed FR graph of all three.
