Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

I have heard from a dealer that Joe and the team actually have stated in writing that there are no current plans to release an update. I hope that this is true as I just got my 1266 TC a few months back.

I kind of hope that the Diana Phi TC comes out when I'm ready to buy, but that might be really soon so...
I think last year there was a black Friday sale, so might pull the trigger then if there is one.

Hmm. Do I think the Monoprice THX amp suffice? Decisions decisions.

The liquid platinum does really well with the diana phi.

I don't think I want to go the tube route anymore. I've tried a few, and I just don't like it. I don't like the heat, I don't like waiting for them to warm up, I don't like waiting for them to cool down, I don't like tube rolling and having multiple tubes and I don't like the tube warm sound lol :)

But they have relatively close power ratings (6W at 32ohm for the thx and 6.62W at 33ohm for the liquid platinum). So, it might be enough?

Yep, we're in a good place with the 3 headphone models, each has its place within our house sound. Working on stuff we do not yet have. ABYSS_SMILEY_tiny.png

@Joe Skubinski I don't know how much better it can get than the AB-1266 Phi TC. They are on par with speakers systems that cost over $50,000. I absolutely love them. They certainly make me happy when it is to late to listen to my Magicos. I actually reach for the Abyss just as much as I listen to my two channel setup. They sound incredible with the Hugo TT2 and when I pick up an Mscaler I will probably get a stackzilla rack too.

Good to hear:). Agreed, the TC easily compares to my 2 channel, just a different more intimate perspective.
I have a dedicated listening room that can play late night without bothering anyone, both speakers and headphones play simultaneously, the speakers add a bit of ambiance, plus the subwoofer doesn't hurt:). It's pretty cool to spread out the 1266 for max leakage and adjust the speaker volume to match, a mix of both.

An easy to drive closed back Diana style headphone would be a good addition to the range.

For people who own Diana and ciems:
How does Diana v2 or phi’s bass compare against iems?
I’m beginning to wonder if I have unreasonable expectations of Diana, or if ciems like A18t are bass heavy by comparison.

What are you driving the Diana with? I have the TC and Khan I used to own a Solaris and jh Roxanne. For me the TC has deeper and more impactful bass than any iem I have owned. The legend x has tons of bass but i found i bleed into the mids and it was a bit muddy too.

Right now, it’s paired with woo wa11 fed by sp1000. It’s a step up from what I was trying out; the sp1000 with amp module attachment.
Both have anemic bass compared to my iems.
My Diana can hit some very low notes, it just doesn’t hit these low notes as loudly as my iems.

I don't have a wa11 but I am not sure it has enough power to drive the diana to its potential. I had on for a bit and paired it with a Cavalli liquid platinum. That drove them very well I feed it with my sp1000cu or metrum onyx when I had it. I now use the TC with my Hugo TT2 and they sound damn good out of it. I still have my liquid platinum to use with my sp1000 in the living room o. The couch.
