What is going on with the second headphone jack of the gold version, I understand only 4.4mm is supported.

Are they both 4.4mm there and functional ?

The pictures here seem to show a couple of variations of something stuck in the second port but I can't make out what it is.

Only 4.4 bal! Focus on balanced output, the target is headphone or high impedance earbuds or IEM.

R70X, 470 ohm，98dB. A little tough for most portable gears. However, R70X is not very fussy about source and can perform well.

The SG1 has been in my possession for two days and I'm blown away by the sound quality. Running aptx hd from my Zenfone 9. Output to Focal Radiance with stock 3.5 mm cable. The experience is immersive, holographic. Superb imaging, good stage. Swift transients, slam on low end and crisp on top. I get a definite tube feeling with the sparkle. This is a high quality audio player and no measurement can disprove this. Try it before you judge it. I see this replacing any mid tier desktop setups. Its so good it warranted my first post ever, though i am in no way new in headfi.

Some time has passed since my original post. I have during the last 4 weeks used Mojo2 as my main portable. I can soundly claim that the Pegasus beats the Mojo2 in all SQ aspect. So impactful, visceral, huge stage. Evokes all these feeeeelings. Paired with Baldr2.

On the first batch (I have) it’s a red rubber plug. On the 2nd batch they stuck something gold in there. I don’t know if it’s a gold removable dust plug or it’s something built in. I’d like to replace my red rubber plug with it tho. It’s a dead 3.5.

This is where the Gold shines! Also listening to final e5000 yesterday which are ridiculously hard to drive due to combination of low impedance and low sensitivity. In high gain, R70x needed to be around 11 o'clock on the knob, while e5000 needed to be around 12 o'clock.

Wow! Final E5K is a tough gear! Harder than most of headphones. If gold could drive E5K well, it 's amazing!

Anyone ever purchase from Audio Essence in Europe. How long roughly do they usually take to despatch after order placed.

I ordered the Pegasus SG1 SE Gold one from them. I live in the states and it took 9 days, that's including going through customs. When you order from them and it says, ships immediately under the item, it will go out either that day or the next. If it's not in stock then it will take about 2 weeks before it ships.

With this amp it is the absolutely best my
Mod House Argon Mk3s have ever sounded. The Pegasus Special Edition Gold has a magical sound to it. Hopefully it will be made available in the states in the near future. I just didn't want to wait till whenever that time will be.

I would get one while they're still available. I was using the Fiio BTR7 & iFi GO blu on my Argons. The Dethonray SG1 Gold beats them both hands down.

Low gain is not powerful ,so it is for IEM. High gain is for headphone, HD800, the knob is near 10 o'clock.
