sound wise I go for SG1, sold my Gryphon after hear SG1
Gryphon sound muddier and veiled.
power and versatility goes to Gryphone

Pairing with Meteor is fantastic! The bass kicks very hard and is extremely tight. The mids are slightly pulled back, the trebles have very nice buttery extension.

Gold paired with Tender1 is great, with a significant improvement in both the base and sound stage. Personally, the bass is much better than my green. lol

I've noticed a pretty drastic change with gold. Key difference is treble reproduction. While quality is the same, I recall it being very splashy and energetic, now it sound smoother and laid back. Overall sound signature seems more in line with what has been reported for standard sg1, it sounds warmer and more l-shaped now. I've had about 25-35 hours on it. I've never noticed such a drastic difference with a source after a burn-in or what not. For example, th900mk2 used to be pretty unlistenable on gold due to sharp treble energy but now they seem to pair a lot better.

I think that the th900mk2 will challenge most sources as their trebles are known of being sharp.
It also shows how smooth and musical the Pegasus is. What's interesting, i don't find it overly dark with dark sounding Meteor.
