Now I'm confused. It's not touch-screen, so it can only be controlled by button-pushes. Recent firmware disabled most of the buttons from performing their intended function while the screen was off. That way, you could remove the player from your (shirt) pocket without unintentionally activating a button, It is pretty easy to avoid hitting the screen-on button when de-pocketing the player....
So, if you have a function that locks out all of the buttons, you would have a brick that can no longer be controlled at all.....
Or, are you requesting some sort of additional slide switch, that would lock out all hte other buttons, and be designed in such a way as to be absolutely unable to be accidentally moved? This would require additional hardware and new case-work, etc...

LPG pre-2017. If not for its hissing issues I think I like it best out of the three sonically. Lotoo claims the same sound as it's 2017 version but in practice the 2017 version sounds smoother, more forward and with a greater uppermid presence.
That's not to say that the DTR is lagging behind though. It's weakness when compared to LPG is its smaller soundstage. Transients are very well defined on the DTR, perhaps even better than LPG in that aspect. I like the LPG series for their performance in every segment. Transient response/clarity, soundstage and effortlessness.

I double-checked my Prelude this morning, to see how it sounded with the Sony Flagship headphones, the Z1R. A quick listen has tuened into an hour or so, SO FAR! The Prelude (in high gain, short/sharp filter setting), really brings them to life. The Sony is very big, but I am more than happy to wak about with them.
That said, I did investigate the lockout function. I was partially wrong. The volume buttons do not work with the screen off, but the other buttons do a wake-up first, when the screen is off, then the second press does whatever the button was supposed to do. My Bad! I misremembered (I have several daps and had been using something else for a bit.
That, that said, the Sony headphones really do bring home the astounding sonics the Prelude can produce. I am primarily and album-driven listener, and can easily set uyp a microsd card to fit my needs without having to rely on tags -- 512G cards are pretty cheap now, so having one dedicated to the Prelude is not financially unattainable. I use a dap solely on the go, never as a dac... and the screen is hard to almost impossible to read in some daylight conditions. Life is compromise!
More Earth, Wind and Fire Gratitude album as I type this-- have done much boogie-ing and air bass wigh the combo this morning.....
They do, and I'm glad they do as I like that feature. And there's only a small chance that you press/hit the volume buttons unintentionally because they are so slim.
