Just got my hands on a sample pair of Sony MDR-Z1R sealed headphones. The DTR1 drives them extremely well at high gain setting, and the combo was staggeringly good. The Sony's are big enough that I can see them in my peripeheral vision while wearing them, but wore them anyway for my half-mile each way walk to the coffee shop for my work break, and listened to them there as well. It has always sounded good with whatever iems I've tried it with, but the Sony is a match made in heaven. May have to talk to my boss about a m=payment plan to get the Sony's for my nerd-out walkabouts. Bravo Dethonray and Anson. Ok, Sony too.

The Prelude with Meze Penta Rai is quite the addictive combination. That bass has such a smooth subwoofer-like characteristic and the lush mids that’s clearly seducing the ears. I can sit down and listen to this pairing for hours. Truly enjoyable.

The Final E5000 is quite the surprise. With no boosted frequency, I’m reckoning it is displaying the Prelude’s ability to display how it sounds as it is. And what an amazing character the Prelude has. Everything sounds clear, detailed, no small nuances goes unnoticed and I can go on and on with this pairing.

The Solaris has been among my favourite when paired with the FiiO M11 or the iBasso DX220. With the Prelude, the Solaris exhibits a fresh perspective to its character. It sounds like you’re in front of a lake on a cool breezy morning and water is crystal clear and soothing. It tends to be a little more on the brighter side and yet we have a full view of all the details in the surrounding.

Do you like your music that much??? (Sorry for the kinky double meaning) :-)

I haven't shed any tears of joy yet, I needed some tissues when I saw the custom bill (210,-€). But I must admit I like this little powerhouse very much. My QP1R and the Dethonray complement each other very good imo. The D'ray works good with Rock and Pop as @golov17 mentioned a few posts back. I've been listening to some old Bob Seger albums last night and it's been a joy. The energy and liveliness is overwhelming at times, in a good way.
The QP1R on the other hand is rather thinnish but a tad more spacious and works good with classical music and types of Jazz imo(Keith Jarrett for example).

I have found one minor flaw regarding the build quality. I can tell by a look on the side of the D'ray if the screen is on.

Apologies for the poor quality. Is anyone experiencing the same?

I also have a kind of small stain behind the screen. I only see it when the screen is off. No big deal. I assume build quality will improve over time as more and more units will be produced. Most important is that the sound is top notch and the Ui very stable.

It's actually more like an observation than a flaw or anything else.
Anyway, I would like to have a case. I mean a real case.
