Hi Folks. I am looking to buy a balanced DAC and was just wondering if anybody knew about any great promotions, sales or deals. Particularly in Canada.

My budget is under $500.00, which is about $330.00/$340.00 in US funds.

Thanks for any input!

If you read that audiosciencereview article, it sounds like they really weren't recommending that ENOG2 thing for balanced operation. They were recommending to use it for un-balanced operation, instead. The measurements got a lot worse in balanced operation.

As for the other post, I don't see anything about the JDS Labs Element that says it's balanced.

Thanks for the suggestion, but a little pricey for me. Right in there with Cambridge Audio Dac MagicPlus and TEAC UD-301. $599.00 seems to be a popular price.

$605.00 is the best price currently on Amazon. I put it on my wishlist. I want to make a decision by Monday, if possible. My OTG cable should be in mid to late next week and I want to see if it works.

I am sure Fostex would be nice quality.

Found a bunch across Canada at $599.00. If they only had a stand alone dac for $399.00ish.

Consider the SMSL SU-8 from DROP. Balanced DAC with a remote control for $200 USD.

I am. I almost bought it on sale. Then I almost bought it on MassDrop. If Shenzen puts it on sale this weekend, I will grab it.

What do you prefer, your Marantz or your Aune, DAC wise?

I have the Aune X7s which is a headphone amp only (no DAC). I have it connected to the variable RCA outs on my HD-DAC1. I have only good things to say about both units. They provide warm, clean sound and plenty of power.
