Every once in a while I get the itch to try some new gear and end up back here at Head-fi. The last time I left The Denon AH-DX000 series was considered some of the best closed headphones on the market, and then markl started raving about the mods he did to his D5000's and these cans shot up hugely in popularity. Unfortunately when I left Head-fi last, the "markl" mod was too new to try to untangle it as legit or simply another FOTM, and the D7000 and Fostex TH-900 didn't exist.
Now that time has passed, have people's opinion of the markl mod changed at all? What exactly did the D7000 and TH-900 add to the equation? Also, was it ever confirmed that the Creative Aurvana Live headphones were the same Fostex headphone as the D1000's?
