I would say they sound great...and I think making a preference is a personal choice. To each its own. This thread to me is like walking into a shop and picking something up and saying "oh i like this" but then the pushy salesperson who wants that extra bit of commission steps in and say's "Oh Sir but I think you would like this more, here have a listen".... "No i definitely like this one" ..."Well that is a bad choice"....and so it goes back and forth. Soon you have to ask yourself a question "Why is it that people are so biased against a certain product?"

Except no members on here make a commission. I think you have a really good question to reflect on there.

The commission is to make sure that I'm am right and you are wrong. My taste is better than yours. My headphones are better than yours. These headphones suck cuz I say so. No headphone is perfect even the HD 800 which has been described as to clinical.

Actually STAX SR-009s, with the right source and amp, are pretty much perfect.

We're not saying you're wrong, just that we don't like them, and then we explained why, with evidence and experiences. This isn't an "appreciation" thread (there's already one of those for the D7100), this thread started out rather critical of them, as you can tell on the first page. Getting upset because your comments and preference hasn't changed our minds is a little irrational.

If you love them, that's wonderful, however there are strongly differing opinions regarding them.

I have both and my 7100's are definitely keepers.

I also had D7100 for about 2 weeks, I was going to keep it for my mom mainly for movies/tv but at $999 it's bit overpriced.
I preferred D7000 over D7100, but this is just my opinion.  Happy that you like it :)

I might get it again if price drop down to $400 - $500, finger crossed :)

Oh please I have them both D1100 and D7100. There is no comparison unless you are deaf.

Go hate somewhere else.

I see the problem. This isn't the appreciation thread, if you'll note the first page you'll see this discussion revolves more around critical assessment. And in that, I'm comfortable in saying that, weighing value into the equation, the D7100s and D1100s are rather comparable.

I Love my D7100 the soundstage and the instrument separation is truly remarkable for a closed set of headphones. There is a lot of hype created on Head-fi about certain products that turn out to be a total failure and have major Quality control issues. Yet people keep following like sheep and appreciating failed product and put up with the QC issues. Case in point Matrix M-Stage comparing that dull amplifier to a superb Lehmann Linear Cube how laughable even my modest Corda Jazz is better than the Matrix M-Stage. Oh I see Matrix is a sponsor of Head-fi maybe that has something to do with it.

Maybe if Denon would sponsor Head-Fi we would start seeing long winding positive reviews about how good their current line of products are. Personally I feel this Nano fibre driver Denon is using is just amazing. I know I have not heard soundstage and instrument separation like this in any closed headphone. The only headphone that comes to this kind of quality is HD 650 which we all know is an open headphone.

I know this is not a appreciation thread but please dont dispense misinformation and try to shut-up the opposing point of view. I would not trust what is being written on these threads because I have made so many bad decisions based on what the sheep are saying. My advice for people is go to your local Hi-Fi shop and try out the product and see/hear what you like. ONLY then put down your hard earned cash.

I try my Denon with bravo audio v2 tube amp, and it sounds marvelous.
