Their styling makes it quite clear they're going after the Beats crowd giving the impression they're as concerned about sound quality as Monster was when they designed the Beats in the first place.  Plus there doesn't appear to be room for that pad sound dampening system.  I don't think these are Foster units.  If these come to fruition someone else might pick up the design from Foster, or them might start marketing them as Fostex phones.  And I still remain unconvinced that these are for real, those photos would have been taken at a trade show but still no other information about them?

The HD800 doesn't photograph well.  It looks fine in videos but it's a bit of a mess in stills.  They also don't give that "colorful all plastic" feeling that a lot of other bad looking headphones have.

A $1500 headphone the size of your head. I don't think that's the beats crowd.
Also, Senn has never been the epitome of quality aesthetic design (to put it lightly). I don't see the HD800 or HD700 as that far from any of their other headphones.

Head-fi'ers will buy a headphone no matter how hideous the design is. Just look at how well the HD800's are doing.

I think they look quite nice.

^^THIS, I love the HD800, its retro-futuristic, but the D7100? Thats just disgusting.
And I hope Denon will read this, but they wont, all I am saying is, I wont sell my d2k, and hell I'll probably buy a D7000 if there is a clearance sale, which I doubt, the prices may even skyrocket.

I do care more about the sound, but I want to be proud to show them off not use them like a 13 year old sex slave, in the dark and away from any eyes.

Come on they are not even close too that bad. we dont even know if these are the finished production version's.

If you wanted to show your non- head-fi friends what headphones are all about, and you can pick one can you own, and you own the d7k and the d7.1k which would it be? Admit it, not the D7.1k

You are giving yourself way too much credit. :)

I've sold at least a dozen sets of headphones for them, probably more. Unless they're stupid they'll pay attention.

You are more likely to see people wearing Denon's or especially Sennheiser's than Beats here.
Not every country is affected by Beats hype.

where in my post did I mention beats?
