This is correct and is very useful information.

very nice pics warp! You and Paul are quite handy with the ole camera. They're very lovely 'phones! I love that shiny, highly lacquered and polished wood! That's the first thing that impressed me when I pulled my D-7000's out of the box.
I have been doing a little tube rolling here lately trying to find slightly different sound sigs for certain music types or bright/dark recordings etc..FUN!

I never get sick of looking at a nice polished wooden can.

Got my D7000's in just now and have been listening for about 15 minutes. I don't want to draw premature conclusions so all of this is my "as of now" opinion. First of all, they are some beautiful phones. I've read posts about low build quality and that remains to be seen, but my first impression is that they look solid and sexy as hell. They're also pretty comfy after I turned the ear pads the right way. As soon as I turned them on the first thing that jumped out at me was that the bass was less than expected. Not that there isn't enough, but I guess my ath-ad2000's have more than many people here believe since I've seen several posts about them being bass lite. The d7000's have a bit more but the ad2000's have a bit more snap while the d7000's bass is a bit softer. They don't sound too bathroomy to me because of their closed design though. I was worried about that. Maybe a little compared to the ad2000 but less than expected. Something I like about them is they lack the slight screaming quality of the ad2000 that was a little harsh sometimes at higher volumes. Not that I don't like a bit of that, but a little less was what I was hoping for and the d7000 has about the right amount. My last observation for the moment is that they take more volume on the amp to get the same level of loudness as the ad2000's. Ok too much info for almost no burn in time. I'll get back to it now and ponder further. Man I can't believe I got these for $550 lol. Thanks J&R!

Okay, I think the pads are smushing into the shape of my head because they're sounding more bassy and louder. S's are slightly sharper than ad2000 I think.

EDIT: Ok....yeah....they're AWESOME

Where is the cheapest place to buy one of these? Not that I can afford it but...

i played nothing but toccata & fugue in D the first few days.
a lot of E1 notes at 41hz and up to probably 8000hz.

this constant exercise really worked out the muscles of my AH-D7000.

ATH-AD2000 by audio technica, my other phones.

PS: My ears just spooged listening to Bass Mekanik-Phoenix. Not my kind of music but shows the D7000 off big time.
