Ahhh I miss my D7000 :), TH900 sounds similar but better in everywhere except mids, it has the recessed mids that I really don't like.
Might get TH600 and save money if you are looking closer to D7k.

I'm curious, are there any headphones that sound like the D7000, that are currently in production?  I thought the TH900 sounded quite different, more detailed and less warm, less bass too. :c

Probably the TH600..............as I say above when I had them side by side with my D7000 it was cloneville.

TH900 is probably better in most ways, but the TH600 is at least more wallet friendly. :)  Might have to give them a try, although I'll definitely check out the TH600 owners thread.

Thanks for the advice.

If I still had my beloved Zeus re-cabled D7000, I'd use one of my fine Zymol Estate auto waxes on it (not their cheaper stuff in the discount auto store that comes in the bottle).

Thanks for the idea buddy................

I just put a pair of Stax 007 pads on my MD-7000 after giving them a 10 day audition on the HE-6.  Didn't quite make the cut on the HE-6 but after an hour of Rick Braun on the Pioneer, think they found a new home.

Great to see the pads re-purposed than in the drawer.

Out of the Pioneer Spec system the D7000 is as you'd say, delicious. The Stax pads seems to have improved the already incredible bass. Deeper and even cleaner than Mr Lawton had achieved. Keeping them on the Denon.

Your Sansui must be remarkable out of the taps with the HE-6..........power really does matter on them.

When tapped to the Shindo Lab mono blocks, the sound emanating outta the HE-6 is yum-o!

My mood's gone south today after seeing my beloved modded D7000 fell apart like this
frown.gif

This sucker attached with "Realiser A8" left my home theatre 5.1 speakers out in the cold for a long time, as well as my HD800 and LCD-3, which are collecting a lot of dusts because of it.

Any suggestion for a good place to fix it.

Thanks.

Looks like you're just missing that one screw?

Which brings up the most important question of all (which I'm sure has been answered in the past but I forget).

Whats the part number and where can we buy that screw?

I have a pair of D7000's that thankfully are still pristine, but I fear this happening some day as well.  Might as well buy a couple extras to have on hand.

Had a pair of D5000 awhile back that also had that screw missing (seller didn't tell me). I ended up banging my head against a wall finding that screw (while these were IN PRODUCTION). Just be careful and i would say regular maintenance check that screw with your finger to see if it's coming out.
