Woot! I can't wait to buy these! With a price point of $500 and the D5000's MSRP a benjamin higher, I wonder how these 2 will compare! Has anyone pre-ordered yet?

On a side note, I just hooked up my sound system to the onkyo sr608 receiver and was wondering, if I plug in these headphones to the receiver, would I get better sound quality if I select the source as my PS3 or a PC with a X-FI soundcard onboard? Both are connected via HDMI.

Speaking of HDMI....I went to my local best buy to get 3-4 hdmi cables and the employee took me to the monster section with $99-$150 HDMI cables with "superior 17.3 GBPS" transfer rate. Sadly, none of these cables were below $60 so then I go to fry's where another guy also takes me to the monster section! What. Why do these people get paid to boast about monster products? I ended up buying a belkin ($20) + sony ($40) + GE ($15) hdmi cables. Does the audio quality get affected by these "higher performance" cables?

Back to headphones, Beats PRO for $450? Is this a joke?

If you're using HDMI then it won't matter what you plug into it because it will get decoded by the internal DAC in the Onkyo. No, HDMI cables do not matter and aside from their IEMs, monster is a joke.

You'd get much better performance out of your headphones if you get a dedicated amp for them. I've got a 706 at home and while the amp is very powerful, the SQ leaves much to be desired.
