Denon AH-7200

I've seen comparisons with th900 or even thX00, but nobody compared them with the newer TH-610 which, from what i've read, have a similar sound signature (leaning towards neutral but still capable of strong impact/subbass). I want to buy a pair of hard hitting HP and I've been looking @ TH-610 and now these....is D7200 worth the extra $$$ over TH-610 ?

Someone please compare TH-610 vs D7200, I just feel they could be a good match

Someone please compare TH-X00 vs D7200?
Thanks.

FWIW, I have the E-Mu Teaks and just recently moved on from the TH-X00 Purpleheart...hopefully this will give you some sense of the differences. In general, the 7200 has a bit more articulate and sophisticated sound while the X00s nearly keep pace but definitely deliver more abundant low end grunt (though I think now the 7200s are probably a bit more accurate in the low end, just not with a pronounced emphasis down low). Were it not for the niggle I had with the head-band comfort, I'd be keeping my own 7200s as they're actually quite a wonderful set of cans.

Have you tried the Fostex TH900? Comparing with the Denon?

TH900 has a very natural bass +4dB gentle rise , but the mid range dip and peaky treble kinda screwed up the overall balance. It's a technical performer with aggressive U-shaped sound signature. D7200's tuning is rather similar to the D7000 in terms of bass and mid range transition. the main difference between the Denon's is the treble emphasis.
If you like rumbling bass and not treble sensitive, TH900 is a strong contender for music enjoyment. If you prefer a polite and less vigorous sound, D7200 is the safer option.
There is not a clear winner between the two but a matter of personal preference.
