You beat me to getting a bMac v3!!! I'm really glad we have another bMac owner here, especially in the Earbuds thread too! I haven't ordered my V3 yet, mainly because i'm so happy with my v2, but I really do want the rear line in. that would be super useful.
 
BTW for the last ~4 moths I have run it with the internal battery disconnected and always plugged into a power supply running 24/7.

You mean for the battery? The charger socket says 12V nearby it.

You will be able to use a 12V adaptor for the back of it. 9.6v battery should work for the internal power source.

Absolutely can.  The amp runs at 9v but is powered off 12v so just open it up, unplug the battery, done.
 
I want to see if I can make my bMAC operate at 12v instead of 9v.
